Installation Of Ring Doorbell Camera Using Existing Wiring & Chime Box
Ring Doorbell - Existing Wiring - Made with Clipchamp_1698224761650.mp4The customer here wanted us to install a Ring doorbell using the existing wiring from a door chime box and push button.
We simply remove the bell contents of the door chime box and replace with a variable 24vAC transformer. This allows us to use the existing wiring to the doorbell to power the new Ring Camera. No redecoration, no mess..

Just in time for Easter, MH Electrical Services have upgraded all the lights in the Nave at St Paul The Apostle Church in Thrapston.
We removed 12 x 26W flourescent lamps and replaced them with 12 x 10W LED lamps which provide a brighter light output and an energy saving of over 61%. These lamps have an energy rating 'E'.

Based on 12 hours use per day over 1 month at an average capped energy cost of 0.34p/kWh the saving is an incredible £242.73 per month.

26W per lamp x 12 = 312W

INSTALLATION OF BATHROOM EXTRACTOR WITH RUN ON TIMER NO ACCESS TO OUTSIDE WALL
THE PROBLEM & SOLUTION...
The tenant of this rented property has suffered with reoccuring damp issues in their bathroom over a long period of time. The owner asked us to install an extractor fan with a run on timer to alleviate the problem of excessive moisture.
The position of the new extractor was identified on the inside and a pilot hole drilled so we could confirm the position on the external face was suitable. It was not posible to obtain access to the outside of the building due to the location of permanently installed car port.
We drilled a 105mm hole through both skins of brickwork using a diamond tipped core drill, then utilised an internal fit extraction vent kit. This allowed us to install the external vent from inside the property. The fan is installed after the external vent has been positioned and fitted.
Bathroom Extractors are usually wired to the upstairs lighting circuit. On identifying the circuit it was evident that there were shortcomings with the existing connections in terms of fire safety. These were corrected during the installation and all conductors placed into a Wago junction box.
The new 3 core & earth cable runs from the lighting circuit to a 3 pole fan isolator before continuing on to the fan. The isolator breaks the line, switched line & neutral conductors.

Just completed this smart EV charger install on a new build property. The properties consumer unit is in the middle of the house and is inaccessible.
Our solution was to install a 2nd small waterproof consumer unit with 2 MCB's & surge protection. The DNO will not allow anything to be placed inside the meter cupboard.

So this week we have been working alongside D Electrics in Titchmarsh carrying out an extensive upgrade of a private electrical installation so that it incorporates the latest safety features that would allow us to install a Hypervolt 7.3kWh EV Charger.

Two new Fusebox Consumer Units incorporating individual RCD's with overload protection for each and every circuit. In addition we installed Type 2 Surge Protection which Protects all electronic equipment such as TV's and Computers etc from transient voltage spikes.
CHURCH LIGHTING
Do your lights need cleaning or lamps replacing? We recently cleaned all the large glass globes in this Small local Church and replaced the lamps inside some others. In addition, we replaced six Spot lights for new black chrome LED in the Nave and installed garden lighting and security lights in the carpark.
HAZELDENE POLEBROOK
We were asked to upgrade the electrical installation of two cottages that have been knocked through and converted into a single dwelling approximately 20 years ago.
The 60A main switch in the picture supplies another distribution board in the 2nd cottage (HAZELDENE NORTH) which has already been upgraded with an RCD protected metal consumer unit.
We replaced three x 3036 rewirable fuse boards and incorporated the circuits into a single, metal fireproof surge protected RCBO consumer unit with double pole main switch and 14 x RCBO's. The next phase of the contract is to replace 7 old storage heaters.

TODAY WE FINISHED THE 2ND FIX OF A PARTIAL REWIRE TO THE OLD ANGEL INN, OUNDLE. THE 19TH CENTURY FORMER INN NOW HOSTS FUNERAL DIRECTORS AVERILL PHILLIPS & FAMILY ON THE GROUND FLOOR AND A SELF CONTAINED FLAT FOLLOWING REFURBISHMENT OF FORMER LANDLORDS ACCOMMODATION ON THE UPPER FLOORS.
AS THIS IS A LISTED BUILDING, WHERE ANY NEW LIGHT SWITCHES WERE REQUIRED, KINETIC RELAYS WERE UTILISED TO AVOID DISTURBING THE FABRIC OF THE BUILDING. THE NEW SURGE PROTECTED CONSUMER UNIT WITH TYPE A RCD'S IS SUPPLIED FROM A NEW KWH SUB METER WHICH IS FED FROM NEW 25MM TAILS AND 16MM MAIN EARTH. THE ORIGINAL CIRCUITS HAVE BEEN EXTENDED USING WISKA CONSUMER UNIT RELOCATOR.
Consumer Unit Upgrade
The client required an upgrade of their consumer unit to incorporate Type 'A' RCD protection for each & every circuit. In addition, the installation also needed a 100A meter tails isolator and new 25mm csa Meter Tails
